Carers Support

From 1st May 2025, and in partnership with Milton Keynes Council, we are proud to be part of launching a brand-new Carers Support service for unpaid carers living in Milton Keynes.

This service is not a continuation of the previous support provided by Carers MK. It’s a fresh start – designed to better meet the needs of carers, with a new approach, new partners, and new ways of accessing support.

What to expect from May 2025

We’re beginning with a phased launch, which means that in the first few months (May-July), you might notice:

  • Limited opening hours or an increase in opening hours month to month.
  • A smaller range of services available at first.

This is because we’re taking the time to get it right – building a strong foundation, recruiting and training a new team, and working alongside our partners to shape a service that carers can truly rely on.

Over the next few months, more support options will quickly become available, so keep an eye on this page and our social media channels for more updates.

Who We Support

This service is for unpaid carers – people who look after a friend or family member due to illness, disability, mental health needs, or addiction.

If you’re not a carer, you might still be able to get help from another part of Citizens Advice. Click here to explore our other services.

Working with Our Partners

We’re building a new network of local and national partners to make sure carers can get support that meets a wide range of needs.
As of May 2025, our confirmed partners include:

CHUMS: offering emotional and mental health support for young carers

Mobilise: providing
online support, coaching, and community for carers

The Alzheimer’s Society: Dementia information and support services

More partners will be joining us throughout 2025, so the support on offer will continue to grow and evolve over the year.

Referrals

If you’re a professional or support worker referring a carer to our service, please use our secure, password-protected referral form. This ensures information is shared safely and reaches the right team.

If you’re a carer and would like us to get in touch, just fill out our short contact form and a member of our team will call you back.

→ We’ll aim to respond within 3 working days, depending on demand.
→ When we call you our number will show as ‘withheld’.
